My mom turned 58 on April 5. My dad was in Africa so we planned for everyone to come over and we were going to cook a big meal and have a party. I ended up making the cake (which looks AWFUL in the pictures, I am HORRIBLE when it comes to cakes with layers....) but everyone ate it and loved it! This first picture is my "help". They were all in Jessica's room watching basketball however I was able to pull Justin out to help me for a little bit, so he gets a little credit!!! I made lasagna which turned out well, but it had to cook for over 2 1/2 hours. I got concerned because, to me, it should not have to cook that long. But I do not describe myself as a cook....AT ALL......After an hour and a half, I started checking it every 5 minutes! 
The cake looks so awful. I am embarrassed to even put a picture on the internet! I ran out of out icing, the stupid layers fell apart on me....it was a disaster! NEVER AGAIN will I volunteer to make a cake, unless its a pound cake, those are easy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Next year, I promise I will order you a cake!!!
