I found this picture in a file on my computer. This is how I remember my Bigmama (my dad's mom). She was in a nursing home for the last two years of her life and every single day without fail my dad and his two sisters went to see her. Alot of other people saw her while she was there too so she was not alone much, but at least 3 times every single day she had company. At night is when my dad would go and he always take some or all of us kids to see her, have a Bible study and pray with her. She could not talk because of her stroke but you could tell that she knew who we were and happy she was to see us by the way her face lit up when we walked in the door. I remember lotioning her hands, helping feed her, watching wheel of fortune with her and I can still see her face so clearly in my mind when she would smile at me. I have a lot of anger and hostility towards nursing homes because of the way she was treated. Several complaints were made. I can only imagine how the people suffer who do not have people coming in and out everyday to see them and report problems and issues. She died in 1995. Anyway, i thought i would share this picture. That is my dad, my sister Carrie, my sister Jessica, my brother James and my Bigmama.
