Christmas at Dogwood

This past Friday night we went to Christmas at Dogwood Acres . It was a first for my family, but was really fun!!! Not everyone from my family went. James, Kasy, my mom, me, Natalie, Joseph and Claire got to go. The kids LOVED it! It was so cold that night, which made it extra fun. Christmas at Dogwood is an outdoor live Nativity story. You get to walk through the woods (the pathway is lit up) to different stopping points. You get to see Mary by herself, Joseph by himself, the Shepherds, King Herod, the census taker and then Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in the stable. It was neat to hear the story and see it acted out. After you walk through the story you get to drink hot chocolate and eat snacks and then take a hayride back to your car. The best part was it was all free!

It was a bit of a drive from our house to Dogwood so we had to stop at Starbucks. Natalie drank her hot chocolate in record time!

Natalie, Joseph and Claire all have on my hats to stay warm. We had to fish through my basket of gloves, hats and scarves for extra warm items that would fit. Natalie is wearing a pair of gloves too.
Can you tell she was excited!??
Claire has my hat on and one of my jackets wrapped around her and her blanket. She was toasty warm the WHOLE time.

I love Claire's face here! She is looking at James like, "who the heck is this!???"

This is the one picture I got of one of our stops.

See, we took good care of Claire, she was bundled up to stay warm.

Natalie really liked it but was disappointed that there were no "live" animals. She can read now and the program said that there would be. :o) (we did not see any animals there, but luckily on the way home we saw a deer! THANK GOD!!)
Here is hayride back to the car.
