Meeting Angie Smith

This past weekend I went to Denver to see my best friend Laura. We got to hang out and go shopping :o) and we went to a concert. Laura had bought tickets for a Selah concert and I was SO excited to go. I flew all the way from Florida to see them (and see you Laura :o) I love Selah but I was most excited because I was hoping that Angie Smith would be at the concert. Angie is Todd's(singer in Selah) husband. If you have not checked out her blog you MUST! I have been reading it for a year now and she has an amazing testimony.

One of my biggest problems with people in the church and Christians in general is their phoniness. I know a lot of people who walk around portraying an image that is not who they (or anyone) really is. Angie is refreshing to me because she is so REAL in her walk and faith in God. Sometimes things in your life can really suck, you get depressed, angry at God and are confused about why things happen. However, through all those things, the running theme that I have seen in Angie's blog is her love for the Lord and how even in all the things that you will go through in life, God is still always RIGHT THERE leading you through the dark times and how He never stops loving you and me. She is so real in her testimony and with what she has experienced in this last year, I am in awe of her faithfulness to the Lord. Some of her posts have made me cry because there are times I feel the exact same way and her words help me understand that its OK to feel that way! She has taught me a lot. In her posts she is great at pointing at scripture to learn more about the Lord and how she has coped and dealt with the struggles of this life. Plus she is really funny and makes me laugh. I would never be able to pick a favorite post of hers, there are too many. But here are two of my many favorites that you must read. ONE and TWO
I am so honored to have met Angie. She has a great testimony and is a wonderful Christian example. Here is the picture of me and her after the Selah concert. She was so genuine when I met her and while she had several people to talk to, she took time to talk with me and posed for a picture. She is one of few people where I can actually see the love of God shining through.
ok, next I will post pics from my weekend with Laura. This post is long enough :o)
