Today is my dog Trooper's 9th birthday. I got him on December 13, 2001 when I was living on Lookout Mountain attending college. The RUF's director's (from my college) black lab had puppies and he posted on the e-board (think craigslist) free puppies. He described the puppies as four black ones, one chocolate one and another chocolate one with lighter markings on his face and paws. I went with my roommate to look at them and fell in love with the special one! This is our first picture together. I was told when I first got him that he would be 60-65 pounds which was a good size and what I was looking for. Well, for those who know us in real life you are probably laughing because he is over 100 pounds! He thinks he is little though which is funny. I have taken pictures of him each year so I am going to try to find and gather the pictures together and post those later. I know he has no idea it is his birthday but its fun for me to remember and give him some extra special treats today.

I remember this day! I think I still have a picture of me holding one of Trooper's siblings! He is such a good boy and a good friend! Happy Birthday Trooper!!!
