Volunteer

Today my niece Natalie and I volunteered with our local animal control at P*t Smart to help get some cats and dogs adopted. She did such a great job. We had to get the animals in and out of the cages and she was talking to people about the cats and dogs and showed the animals to the people. She also made sure we walked all the dogs. She had a blast. She told people how she was a volunteer and LOVED holding and walking the animals.

They needed help transporting the animals to the store so here is my car with some of the cats (fyi, i am allergic to cats.....I was sneezing and my eyes were watering for the first two hrs and then stayed away from the cats once they were settled at the store. ) We had cats growing up and I did not react this way but in the last ten years I have developed this allergy.....the cats were very cute though.

I would check on her and see if she was hungry or thirsty (because we helped all morning and into the afternoon) she kept saying that animals come first. HA HA! When she grows up she wants to run an animal sanctuary and said she will never put her animals to sleep like animal control has to do. I got sad seeing all the dogs at the shelter. They were so sweet.
the dog above name is sweet pea which Natalie was so excited because that is one of her nicknames!
We had to keep walking the dogs so they could get exercise and go potty.

She wanted to stay all day and I learned that the shelter needs help in the afternoons so we are going to go help with the animals with baths and dinner.

I found out later on from my friend who is the coordinator of the event that 8 animals were adopted!!!!
